Roadmap to Involvement

What's Your Idea of Church?

  • Good Music?
  • Interesting Messages?
  • Total Boredom?
  • Out of Touch Concepts?
  • Money?
  • Softball?
  • Friendships?

The purpose of our church is to connect people with God and others, We want you to experience God in a very personal and life-changing way as we worship. Additionally it is important to us that you find genuine, caring friendships that add value to your life.

It is here that you will have greater opportunity to bond, encourage, strengthen and network with one another. We want to invite you to involve yourself! Meet this church family! We are certain that you will come to the same conclusion we have - some of the greatest people in the community are at New Hope.

A primary goal of New hope is to reach this community. We want to touch them with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ; touch them with kindness by being the physical hand of God extended; and touch them where the hurt and needs are . Our Community is defined as is noted in the adjacent circle:

We are always looking for ways to reach out...whether it's through Code Red, Coffee House, Adopt-A-Block, Dramas, Kindness in Action or some of our in-house ministries. We want to touch peoples lives.

At New Hope we have a smaller group of people that we are concerned about. It is those individuals notified in the adjcent circle as the Crowd: These are prople who have shown some interest in our church. They may have come as a result of friends or an outreach. It may be they feel accepted just as they are, or they enjoy the friendliness of the people of New Hope. It may even be they are interested in knowing about God. They may not know why they keep coming but they feek something when they are here and they go away changed.

Our desire is that these people come and feed at His table and be drawn into His presence. It is our hope that some day they might want to start a new life with Christ and start walking a new path. If they want to assist others in areas of ministry, we have things for them to do, however, there is little responsibility. They do not enjoy privilege of leadership and have no input as to the direction of the church. Our hope is to involve them as they grow.

New Hope's family is made up of three other groups, the first is our Congregation: These are people that have started investing into this family. They have come along side with the attitude of "let me carry some of this load" or "I like the way things are going here and I want to be a part of this." They are people that have faith in Christ (Romans 10:9, 10). We are uniting to accomplish a common goal. We expect these people to start giving of their gifts God has given them. We ask them to take a class to help understand what it means to grow in Christ and a class to help them know all about the New Hope family. If you are part of this group, you are invited to stop by the Welcome Table and receive an Inclusion Chart. This will give you a pathway to becoming involved and growing in the New Hope family.

As New Hope's family matures, we see our next group of people, the flesh and bones of our church, our Committed: This recognition was not handed to them. They are people that are fruit-bearers in their relationship with Christ. They are hungry to see God move in their life. They understand the needs of the church and are now being faithful in their tithing. They are asking questions on how they can grow and what they can do. They are hungry to see God change lives and want to minister to people. These are people who have discovered the joy and blessing of giving of their talents and money.

The last part of our family is the smallest part. It is the very heart and soul of New hope - it is the Core: Without these people the church would be wandering around in the wilderness. These people have sacrificed to see this community reached for Christ. Their commitment to Christ and the ministries of this church are not in question. The Spirit of God is working through them. Tithing and giving are just a small part of what they give to God. They have become partners, not just members. The fullness of the Holy Spirit is ongoing and active in their life. From this part of the family, we get our leaders. Whether they be directors of ministries, deacons, or elders, they come from the core.
